It's been nearly two years since the Dawgs last did this

Steak Shapiro and Rusty Mansell share their thoughts on the Georgia Bulldogs' taking a step closer to history

While some may say that the Georgia Bulldogs are not as dominate as they have been the past two seasons, what cannot be taken away from them is the fact that they are on one of the most remarkable runs in college football history. Following their 38-10 win over Tennessee this past Saturday, the Bulldogs have now a school record 28-game winning streak and can set the record for most consecutive wins by an SEC team if they are able to walk out of the flats with a victory on Saturday.

And as the Dawgs continue to make program history, without looking too far ahead, should Georgia manage to enter the SEC Shampionship with 29 straight wins, they will have the opportunity to close out the regular season with not only 30 wins in a row, but a win streak that expands a two-year time span and how ironic that a win over Alabama next Saturday will make it nearly two years to the day, that Georgia suffered their last loss at the hands of the Tide in the SEC title game.

"I think what people need to understand is Georgia's three wins away from a three-peat," Steak Shapiro said on Wednesday as he and Rusty Mansell shared their thoughts on what Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs have been able to accomplish the past few seasons. However, while agreeing that Georgia still has to take care of business down the stretch, Mansell added that "they're three games away from all-time history," should Georgia run the table and become the first team since Minnesota (1934, 1935, 1936) to win three in a row.
