NFL reporter John McClain joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the start of training camps around the league and will Deshaun Watson be traded or even play during the 2021 season?
When asked if Watson would be traded.
“Would you trade for a quarterback who has twenty-two civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and assault, ten of the victims have filed police complaints they’re investigating, the NFL is investigating he could be suspended for half the season, the full season or not at all,” McClain said. “Would you give up a couple of number one’s and two’s not knowing what’s happening in that situation? I don’t know anybody in their right mind that would, but if they would but if they did, Texans would trade him in a minute. There have been reports in the national media that all of a sudden he’s available, he’s been available since March but the problem is everybody that was interested in February, at least the eight teams that I know of have backed away because they wanna know what’s going on with the legal situation. I believe he has to get it resolved before they’ll trade him, he’s not going to play here again.”
“He reported to avoid paying fifty-thousand dollars a day in fines, the best thing that could happen, they should send him home and say, you’ve got excused absences we will not fine you.”
