PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers once again have a dedicated quarterbacks coach.
Former Pitt offensive coordinator Matt Canada was named the new QB coach on Wednesday.
During his final press conference of the season Tomlin said he was open to bringing in a QB coach.
Last season, offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner was both offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Canada was the offensive coordinator at Pitt during the 2016 season when the team averaged 42-points a game.
In 2017 he was the offensive coordinator and QB coach at LSU where quarterback Danny Etling threw 16 touchdowns and two interceptions.
He was the interim head coach at Maryland in 2018.
Canada has also coached at Indiana, Northern Illinois and Wisconsin.
Canada didn't coach in 2019.
This is his first NFL job.
