PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) Starting June 1, the Pittsburgh Penguins will bring in a four-month unpaid leave of absence program for employees of the team.
COVID-19 has forced the team out of play for multiple months and it is still unsure what direction the remainder of the season is going in.
Employees will remain with the Penguins and receive full health benefits from the team.
Beginning on June 1, the Penguins will institute a four-month unpaid leave of absence program for a number of employees because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those employees will remain #Pens employees and receive full health benefits from the team.

May 12, 2020 First reported by Matt Vensel, over a video conference on Monday, Penguins’ CEO David Morehouse said it was “the most difficult thing I have ever had to do in my professional career.”
Morehouse will also be taking a 50% pay reduction, other senior executives and coaches will take a 25% pay reduction.
