NHL, NHLPA Agree On Return To Play Plan

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) The NHL and NHLPA have come to an agreement on a four-year extension of the collective bargaining agreement and the Return to Play Plan.

With the agreement, the NHL will begin with exhibition games on July 28, and its Stanley Cup Qualifying rounds will start Aug. 1.

The plan is to have the Stanley Cup awarded to the champion in early October.

The Penguins will play their first game of the qualifying round on August 1 against the Montreal Canadiens.

The NHL will be returning to play in a pair of hub cities in Canada, Edmonton will host the Western Conference and Toronto will host the Eastern Conference.

Rules and regulations have been put in place for the off-ice times for each player.

Edmonton has also been selected as the host of both conference finals and the Stanley Cup Finals.
