PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation have announced a $20,000 donation to help those impacted by the coronavirus outbreak after an auction of the team's never-worn green St. Patrick's Day jerseys.
Donations of $5,000 each are being distributed to the following charities:
Pittsburgh Community Food BankWestern PA Diaper BankRainbow KitchenSalvation Army carry-out program
The Penguins say in a release that the donation to the Salvation Army will result in 1,700 meals in one week.
"We want to thank our fans for once again coming through to assist residents of our community who are in need at this difficult time," said Jim Britt, executive director of the Penguins Foundation.
