PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Steelers are projected to receive a 2020 third-round compensatory pick for the loss of Le'Veon Bell.

Nick Korte of salary cap-centric website Over the Cap revealed his final compensatory pick projections for 2020.

In his projections, Korte had the Pittsburgh Steelers being awarded a third-round compensatory pick for Le'Veon Bell's exit last off-season.

Every year, up to 32 compensatory picks are awarded to teams based on major free agency losses from their roster.

The compensatory formula, while still somewhat shrouded in mystery, has been attempted to be replicated by analysts and sites, like Over the Cap, to make the best possible predictions for each year's compensatory round-up.

The formula is affected by a player's contract, playing time, postseason accolades and incentives achieved.

The Steelers will likely get a third-rounder based on Bell's big contract with the Jets.

Bell's contract was worth a little over $13.1 million on an average-per-year rate.

That's the sixth-highest rate from the 2019 off-season, and it put Bell's contract APY value behind Trey Flowers, Landon Collins, Trent Bown, Earl Thomas, and Tyrann Mathieu.
