PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – We’re familiar with the moves the Pens made, most of the significant ones came before free agency began on Wednesday. The signings of Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell set the core of the Pens for the coming season.

How have the teams in the division changed?  We looked at their NHL deals and which of their free agents signed elsewhere.

Carolina Hurricanes

Signed-RWs Ondrej Kase (50 games, 27 points, 1 year, $1.5 million) and Stefan Nosen (2 games, no points, $1.52 million total)
Trade-added future Hall of Fame D Brent Burns (82 games, 54 points), forward Max Pacioretty (39 games, 37 points) and D Dylan Coghlan (59 games, 13 points)

Signed-the top scoring free agent LW Johnny Gaudreau (82 games, 40 goals, 75 assists) for 7 years at $9.75 per season. Also signed physical defenseman Erik Gudbranson (78 games, 17 points) for 4 years, $16 million.
