The mystery of Kris Letang's magically, magnificent mustache has been solved.
After practice on Friday, Letang said he is doing it in solidary for his defensive partner Brian Dumoulin who lost the "Mustache Boy" competition earlier this week.
"I knew going into the practice we were going to go into the mustache boy. I was told not to shave my mustache, so I came to the rink with I," said Letang. "My partner, Brian Dumoulin, lost it. I didn't want to leave him by himself having a mustache for the month."
Letang debuted the 'stache on Wednesday during practice and it got attention on social media.
Fellow defenseman Mike Matheson said after Wednesday's practice didn't know why the change was and that, "I hope it wasn't because he thought it looked good."
The mustache twins will try to once again beat the Bruins Saturday night in Boston.
