PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — General Manager Ron Hextall announced Thursday that forward Kasperi Kapanen had been activated off the injured reserve list.
With Kapanen's activation, forward Anthony Angello has been reassigned to the AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Kapanen is returning from a 13-game break after suffering an injury on March 24 against the Buffalo Sabres.
In the 13 games Kapanen played before his addition to IR, he had logged 11 points.
2021 is Kapanen's first campaign with Pittsburgh, and so far, he has posted seven goals, 14 assists, and 21 points in 20 games played.
Kapanen has spent his entire career playing for either the Pittsburgh Penguins or Toronto Maple Leafs.
In fact, the forward scored his 100th point this past February.
The Penguins will continue a five-game home stretch against the New Jersey Devils Thursday at 7 p.m.
