Saturday, August 31
Kent State (1-11 in 2023, 7-0 all-time vs KSU last meeting in 2003)
· The Golden Flashes had only one game decided by one possession, outscored on average 34.6 points to 14.7
· KSU added 27 new players including safety Clinton Robinson from Keystone Oaks
· Former Penn State offensive line coach Matt Limegrover is the co-offensive coordinator
Saturday, September 7
at Cincinnati (3-9 in 2023)
· Jumped out to 27-7 lead and won at Acrisure Stadium 27-21 rushing for 216 yards (Junior Corey Kiner had 153 yards and a TD)
· Finished 5th in Division 1 averaging 217.1 yards rushing per game
· Brought in 21 high school signees and 17 transfers who have four years of college experience, including West Virginia LB Jared Bartlett who led WVU with 4.5 sacks
Saturday, September 14
West Virginia (9-4 in 2023)
· Mountaineers won 17-6 in Morgantown last year as WVU held Pitt to 211 yards of offense
· QB Garrett Greene threw for 2,406 yards with 16 TD and 4 INT and rushed for 772 yards and 13 TD
· WVU rushed for 2,976 yards-the highest number of any Power 5 school
Saturday, September 21
Youngstown State (8-5 in 2023, beat Duquesne advanced to 2nd round of FCS playoffs, finishing 21st in FCS poll)
· Beat Duquesne 40-7 in 1st round of playoffs, beat Robert Morris 48-28
· Rushed for 164 yds per game, allowed 102 yds/game
· Added transfer DB Stephon Hall from Pitt and his Central Valley HS teammate Jawon Hall from Slippery Rock
· Pitt leads series 4-1, winning 28-21 in OT in last meeting 2017, loss 31-17 at home in 2012.

• Beat Pitt 41-24 as Drake Maye combined for 3 touchdowns holding Pitt to 113 rushing yards. Panthers Kenny Johnson had 100 yard kickoff return

• Signed 22nd ranked recruiting class, offense led by RB Omarion Hampton

• Allowed 280 yards passing a game with 30 touchdowns
• Ranked as high as 6th in transfer portal rankings with 13 transfers

· Beat Pitt 28-13 at Yankee Stadium rushing for 382 yards (154 yards from TE Dan Villari) and forced four turnovers

At SMU (11-3 in 2023 winning conference championship)
• Averaged 454 yards of offense, 43% on 3rd down while allowing 304 yards, 28% on 3rd down, scored at least 100 points in every quarter in 2023
• Had 48 sacks while allowing 16
• Sophomore QB Preston Stone threw for 3,197 yards & 28 passing TD, 13th in NCAA with 161.3 passing efficiency rating
• SMU leads all-time series 3-2-1 with last meeting 28-6 Mustangs in 2012

Virginia (3-9, 2-6 ACC in 2023, beat UNC and Duke, 4 one-score losses)
• Allowed 34 points per game, 184.5 rushing yards per game, while rushing for only 117.9 yards per game, had only 11 sacks on the season, allowed 43
• QB Anthony Colandrea led all Power Five true freshmen in pass yards and TD passes
• Added transfer WR Chris Tyree (Notre Dame), DB Corey Thomas (Penn Hills HS), DB Jermarian Jackson (Robert Morris)
• Pitt leads all-time series 10-4, winning 6 of last 7

· Castellanos threw for 2,248 yards with 15 touchdowns to 14 interceptions and rushed for 1,113 yards and 13 TD
· Averaged 199.5 yards rushing, allowed 188.1 yards rushing
