PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – While it wouldn’t be a surprise given everything about this year and his Pitt team has lost four straight games, potential high round NFL Draft pick Paris Ford is opting out of the rest of the season as first reported by Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Ford send out a tweet late yesterday saying “I’m to loyal to the wrong folkz”.
The senior safety said following the win at the Quick Lane Bowl he was coming back to Pitt along with several others. The season obviously hasn’t turned out the way they’ve wanted it to and before the season even started, another expected high draft pick, Jaylen Twyman, opted out.
Ford was also visibly upset at being pulled late in the Notre Dame game.
The 6’ safety is one of the highest ranked recruits to commit to Pat Narduzzi. Ford won a state championship as a do-everything player at Steel Valley and chose Pitt over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, among others.
Ford has 41 tackles and three interceptions this season and had three picks and 90 tackles last year, as well as three forced fumbles and was named First-Team All-ACC.
