PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – An overtime win over North Carolina got the Panthers up to 20 in the latest AP College Football Poll. Pitt moved up to 19 in the coaches' poll.
The difference between the two is the 8-2 Panthers are ahead of 7-3 Wisconsin in the USA Today/Coaches Poll and behind Paul Chryst and the Badgers in the Associated Press.
Wake Forest (9-1) is the highest ACC school, remaining at 13 after the win over NC State with the 7-3 Wolfpack at 25. A couple of three loss teams are ahead of the Panthers, Texas A&M (7-3) at 16 and the Badgers at 19.
Alabama jumped Cincinnati for second in the AP poll after beating New Mexico State 59-3. Oregon is 4 followed by Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Michigan, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss. Georgia remains number one. Penn State dropped out after losing to the Wolverines.
Saturday Game time
ACC announced on Sunday the Pitt-Virginia game at Heinz Field this Saturday will kick at 3:30p. A Panthers win and Pitt clinches the ACC Coastal Division and locked into the ACC Championship game.
