Pitt now in Top 15 of a major poll after 10th win

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt moved up to 15 in the latest USA Today/Coaches’ Poll and 17 in the Associated Press poll.

Panthers will play 10-2 Wake Forest in the ACC Championship Game Saturday night at 8p on 93.7 The Fan.  The Demon Deacons are ranked 18 by the Coaches and the AP.

Georgia remains a unanimous number 1 followed by Michigan, after the win over Ohio State, Cincinnati is 3, Alabama 4, then Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, the Buckeyes, Ole Miss, Baylor and Oregon.

Michigan State coming off the regular-season ending win over Penn State is 11 with Dana Holgorsen’s Houston team 16.  The Cougars will face unbeaten Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference championship game on Saturday.

NC State is 21 and Clemson is 22 with former Pitt head coach Paul Chryst’s Wisconsin team falling out of the Top 25.  Penn State did get five votes.
