PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt head coach Jeff Capel made a mention of it before he got into the specifics of the game Monday, how the Oakland Zoo was packed for a game against North Carolina A&T. He wasn't the only one who took notice as the Panthers host Binghamton Friday night at 7p on 93.7 The Fan.
"I love it," said Pitt forward Blake Hinson. "I do remember last year. It was one of the first games. I always tell the story about the Zoo growing in attendances. It was during the National Anthem when they yell 'hail'. Last year first game I believe only one person yelled 'hail', no exaggeration.
"It was a pretty loud 'hail' Monday, that is so dope. They respond to winning and that's how it should be."
"It felt great," said first-year Panthers guard Ishmael Leggett. "The crowd was amazing. It was really electric in there. It was a taste of how it will be all season. I can't wait."

Scouting Binghamton
With just over 11 minutes to go in the game, Binghamton led its opener at Northwestern. The Wildcats would go on to win by 11, mainly because they hit almost all of their free throws down the stretch. The Bearcats are picked fourth in the America East Conference.
6'3" graduate student Symir Torrence is the highest ranked player ever with Binghamton. You may have heard the name as he played a couple of years at Syracuse and before that, Marquette, coming out of high school as a Top 50 player in the nation. Torrence had 12 points, four rebounds and six assists in the opener.
Pine-Richland graduate Dan Petcash is Binghamton's all-time leader in three-point shooting at 40% in 97 games. The 6'4" guard played all 40 minutes against Northwestern with 10 points and four assists.
