It's official, former USC quarterback Kedon Slovis is transferring to Pitt.

The former Southern California QB officially entered the transfer portal last week and will now be the Panthers next quarterback, following Kenny Pickett.

In an article he published in The Player's Tribune Slovis explained why he decided to transfer to Pitt.

I was so excited when Coach Narduzzi called, because I knew that Pitt and this program were the right fit for me to keep developing into the best leader I can be. I'm ready to win now — and talking to the players who are returning, and seeing how hungry they are for next season, that got me pumped.
They have a lot of talented players coming back. And, man … getting to throw the ball to the guy who just won the Biletnikoff?? That's something you don't pass up. The culture and identity that Coach Narduzzi has created is everything I want to be a part of.

That Biletnikoff winner is current sophomore Jordan Addison.

In his true freshman year in 2019 Slovis threw for 3,502 yards and 30 touchdowns.

In 2020, he threw for 1,921 yards and 17 touchdowns in six games and this past season threw 2,153 yards with 11 TDs and eight interceptions.

Slovis saw his playing time decrease due to his play and some injuries. True freshman Jaxson Dart got a lot of the playing time.

Slovis has two more years of eligibility in college football and in those two years, he plans to win championships.

"To everyone at Pitt: I'm feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a Panther — and I can't wait to prove myself again on this stage, said Slovis. "Let's go win some football games."
