PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A very underrated player with the Pens last year, probably because he was so steady most of the season, defenseman Cody Ceci left. The 27- year-old cashing in for four years, $13 million with the Edmonton Oilers.
After eight points in 56 games with Toronto in 2019-20, Ceci played in 53 games with the Pens with four goals and 13 assists and a plus 17. The right-handed shot was paired with Mike Matheson for much of the season finishing with 70 blocks, 74 hits in 18:31 of ice time a game.
The 6'2", 210-pound Ceci was Ottawa's number one pick in 2012 and played with the Senators for a half-dozen years before his one season in Toronto.
Ceci will make over two and a half times his $1.25 million salary with the Penguins over the span of four seasons.
