
CRANBERRY TWP., PA (93.7 The Fan) – Well after the trade deadline had passed, there was an announced trade with the Pens getting defenseman Conor Timmins from Toronto along with center Connor Dewar for compensation to be announced.
The 26-year-old Timmins is 6’3”, 213 pounds originally from Ontario and the first pick of the second round in 2017 by Colorado. He has two goals this season, one against the Pens on Sunday. He averages 16:19 over 51 games with eight total points and 24 penalty minutes. The right-handed shot was originally acquired by Dubas while with Toronto from Arizona.
Timmins will become a restricted free agent after the season after making $1.1 million each of the last two seasons.
Dewar is a 25-year-old, left-handed center who was the third-round pick of the Wild in 2018. In 31 games this season, he has no goals and three assists averaging 9:58 of ice time and five penalty minutes. The Manitoba native had 10 goals with the Wild in 57 games last season before being traded to the Maple Leafs last March.
He will be a restricted free agent as well after making $1.18 million this year.
