At least getting a point was big for the Pens who move into a tie with Detroit for the final Wild Card spot and the Pens host the Red Wings on Thursday.
Pens got the first goal for the fifth consecutive game as Rickard Rakell scored his 14th of the season. Toronto got the next two including the 65th from Auston Matthews to make it 2-1 in the third. Drew O’Connor scored with at 13:38 to even the game on a helper from PO Joseph and the 998th career assist from Sidney Crosby.
