PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The long time voice of the Pittsburgh Penguins recently announced that he would retire from the broadcast booth.
Mike Lange, at the age of 73, decided to end his career as the Penguins play-by-play announcer after 46 years.

The Penguins plan on honoring the Hall of Fame broadcaster with “Mike Lange Night” on Oct. 19 against the Dallas Stars.
Lange will be the games’ guest of honor when he will attend a hockey game as a fan for the first time in over four and a half decades.
Fans attending will receive cheer cards that will feature Lange’s famous sayings.
In-game tributes and videos will be played and shared throughout the game.
“I am more than honored to share this night with the fans of Pittsburgh,” said Mike Lange. “I’ll be smiling like a butcher’s dog while I enjoy the hockey game.”
