It was and up and down year for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Even as the team was dealing with injuries they found a way to win the Eastern Division, one of the most competitive in the shortened NHL season.
Fans were riding high into playoffs, but once again the Pens were knocked out of the playoffs by their old playoff foes, the New York Islanders.
But through it all the fans were there, and we can prove it.
According to the Sports Business Journal, Pittsburgh had the highest local TV ratings in the entire NHL this season.
The Penguins posted a 7.79 rating on AT&T SportsNet, and is the 15th year in a row Pittsburgh has been either number one or two overall.
Other teams in the top five are Vegas, St. Louis, Buffalo and Boston.
The Journal also listed the NBA ratings for the season, with the Golden State Warriors posting a top 5.96 rating, meaning the Penguins lead both the NHL and NBA in the United states when it comes to local TV viewers.
