The 23-year-old Nylander is signed through the end of the season and is making over $874,000.
Spending most of this season in the minors or on the Blackhawks taxi squad, the 6’1” 192 lbs. has played in 84 games in the NHL with 13 goals and 19 assists with Chicago and the Buffalo Sabres.
This season with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, Nylander has eight goals and four assists in 23 games.
In 10 games this season, Lafferty has zero goals and two assists.
Lafferty was drafted by the Penguins in the 2014 Entry Draft and made his debut for Pittsburgh in October 2019.
