Pens-Flyers 1st round could be locked in tonight

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It’s the verge of a Pens-Flyers first-round playoff series. We could know for sure Monday night.

Pens are locked into the second-seed in the Metropolitan Division which means they will play the third-place team in the division holding the home ice advantage.

Flyers clinch third place in the Metro tonight with a win tonight hosting first-place Carolina. The Hurricanes do have something to play for, while already locking up the division title, Carolina would clinch the Eastern Conference with at least a point against Philadelphia.

A Flyers (94 points) regulation loss keeps Washington (93 points) and Columbus (92 points) alive. A Flyers overtime loss eliminates the Blue Jackets. Caps play a final game at Columbus Tuesday night at 7p. Philadelphia has one more game after Monday, home to Montreal Tuesday night.
