The Pirates made a number of moves on Sunday to their 40-man roster, including declining the 2021 club option for Chris Archer.

Right handed pitchers Dovydas Neverauskas and Nick Burdi were designated for assignment.

Burdi had a second Tommy John surgery last month and will be out for 16-18 months.

Neverauskas spent four years with the Bucs with a 1-4 record, 6.81 ERA in 76 games.

With the Pirates declining the $11 million club option for Archer, he is now a free agent.

The Bucs also reinstated five players of the 69-day injured list.

Those include outfielder Anthony Alford (elbow), infielder/outfielder Phillip Evans (jaw), along with right handed pitchers Michael Feliz, Clay Holmes and Jameson Taillon (all elbow).

Taillon missed all of this past season after undergoing his second Tommy Johns Surgery in 2019.
