Some good news and other moves for the Pirates.

Short Stop Oneil Cruz and right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker have been reinstated from the 60-day injured list, the Pirates announced Monday.

Cruz’s 2023 season was essentially wiped out with him fracturing his left fibula on April 9.

Cruz was working on his fielding and hitting before the end of season.

It was originally forecast Cruz could return before the end of the season, but that never happened.

Brubaker underwent Tommy John surgery in early April. He didn’t’ pitch in any regular season games in 2023.

RHP pitcher Yerry De Los Santos has been sent to Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Pirates lost two players claimed off waivers.

Outfielder Miguel Andujar has been claimed off waivers by the Oakland A’s and LHP Angel Perdomo has been claimed by the Braves.

Andujar batted .250 in 30 games with the Pirates in 2023 with four home runs and 18 RBI. He batted .338 in Triple-A with 140 hits over 103 games, 30 doubles and 16 home runs.

Perdomo was 3-2 for Pittsburgh last year with a 3.72 ERA over 30 games.

The Pirates now have 37 players on their 40-man roster.
