According to 93.7 The Fan’s Colin Dunlap, Pirates third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes and his father are not particularly happy in Pittsburgh.

“He’s given the impression that he probably wouldn’t resist being put on the trade block, if it came to that,” Dunlap said on Cook and Joe.

Dunlap adds he has heard that Ke’Bryan’s dad, Charlie Hayes, a former MLB player himself, has been in his son’s ear and that they aren’t happy.

Dunlap says he is hearing that Charlie doesn't believe his son has a good chance of winning in Pittsburgh.

Hayes is currently on the 10-day injured list with a back injury. Something that hindered him last season as well.

Drafted by the Pirates in the 1st round of the 2015 draft, Hayes made his debut in 2020.

He played in 24 games and got off to a great start with a .376 batting average.

He suffered in injury early in the 2021 season and missed a lot of time, playing in 96 games.

This season, Hayes is batting .252 with five home runs, 32 RBI and an OPS of .683.

Hayes signed an eight-year, $70 million extension in 2022 with $70 million guaranteed.

The 26-year-old is under club control through 2023.

Hayes' defense has been exceptional but his bat has been average at most
