Griffin now ranked as 2nd best Pirates prospect
What moved the teenager up, plus a look at the new Top 10
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Last year he was in high school, now Konnor Griffin has moved up as the Pirates second-ranked prospect in the latest ratings by MLB.com.
Veteran MLB writer and Pittsburgh native Jonathan Mayo says Griffin has the best power potential in their entire minor league system. It's rare that the best 'power' is combined with the best 'run' potential, but that is the case with the shortstop/outfielder. The 6'4", 225-pound right-hander also has the best 'arm' among the Bucs position players.
The Pirates 2024 first-round pick played in five Grapefruit League games this year as a non-roster invitee to training camp with a pair of hits in seven at bats including a home run.
