Pirates outfielder Jack Suwinski is being called up from Triple-A Indianapolis for Thursday’s doubleheader in Detroit.
The Pirates say Suwinski will be the team’s 27th man for the doubleheader.
Over his last 16 games, Suwinski is hitting .310 with four home runs, 16 RBI and has reached based safety since May 28.
The 26-year-old was batting. 128 with 1 RBI and 0 home runs over 16 games before he was sent down to Triple-A.
Over four seasons, Suwinski has a .204 average, slugging .399 with a .706 OPS.
Game one of the doubleheader begins at 1:10 p.m. Game two is scheduled for 5:40 p.m.
