Pirates prospect Chandler goes 2-for-3 with a double in Low-A debut

The Pirates third round Pitcher/shortstop Bubba Chandler was promoted from the Florida Complex League to Low-A Bradenton on Tuesday and he didn’t disappoint in his first game.

Chandler batted in the six-spot and went 2-for-3 in the designated hitter spot, with a double.

Bradenton won 4-1 Tuesday night.

Chandler struck out pinch hitting in the Marauders Wednesday afternoon win against Jupiter.

Before being called up to Low-A, Chandler had three home runs and was batting .231 in six games with the Florida Coast League Pirates,

Chandler is also a pitcher and in 15.1 innings of has tossed 27 strike outs and is yet to give up an earned run.

Chandler has quickly moved his way up the rankings as one of the Pirates top prospects.

According the MLB Pipeline, Chandler is the Pirates eighth highest prospect and the third highest pitcher.

Chandler has yet to make a start on the mound in Low-A.
