PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The Pittsburgh Pirates are returning to PNC Park to begin a long weekend home stand against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Before first pitch, however, the Pirates made a roster move that didn't involve an injury or trade as the deadline looms.
The Pirates placed Bryan Reynolds on the paternity list and recalled Bligh Madris from Triple-A to fill the roster spot.
Reynolds has only played in two games since returning from two weeks on the injured list.
So far in 2022, Reynolds has played in 85 games with a .254 batting average and 15 home runs.
This will be Madris' second stint in the MLB this season after previously playing 15 games in June and July.
Through those 15 games Madris holds a .259 average with his first career home run.
