Report: Slugger Kyle Schwarber re-signing with Phillies

The Pirates have reportedly lost the Kyle Schwarber sweepstakes.

The left fielder, that finished second in National League MVP voting is re-signing with the Philadelphia Phillies.

He’s reportedly going to sign a five-year deal worth $150 million, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

According to reports the Pirates were offering a deal around $120 million for four years.

The 32-year-old led the N.L. with 56 home runs and the entire MLB in RBI with 132 with the Phillies.

To date, the Pirates’ biggest free agent deal in history is the three-year, $39 million contract pitcher Francisco Liriano signed in 2014.
