Things didn’t go according to plan to Steelers defensive lineman Tyson Alualu this season.

After seemingly leaving for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the offseason, but then deciding to return to Pittsburgh, Alualu fractured his ankle in the second game of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to his Instagram, that isn’t how he wants to go out.
“I definitely don’t plan to go out this way so I’m working (100 times) harder and smarter for a great comeback to contribute in (season) 13.”
Alualu returning to the defensive line would add a much needed boost to the defense.
The Steelers were already down a key piece on the D-line before the season with Stephon Tuitt dealing with a knee injury and also the sudden death of his brother.
Tuitt is under contract next season, but his football future remains in doubt.
Alualu will make a base salary of $2.5 million next year and is a free agent in 2023.
