PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – His mother was a graduate of the school and on Friday, Cam Heyward donated to the Pittsburgh City League school USO to help the boys and girls football programs.

The school was once called Peabody High School when Cam’s mom Charlotte attended.

“It’s two minutes away from my grandma’s house,” Heyward said. “I’ve always passed it. I know what they are going through.”

Heyward presented a check to a group from USO including the PPS superintendent for $15,000 to help with their football locker room and to assist in funding the girls flag football program. It’s part of Cam’s Kindness Week where he visits and donates a different charity daily, often multiple events in a day.

Would Cam’s mom have been a good flag football player?

“My mom was pretty rough, I don’t know if she would be allowed in flag football. Ripping out a flag is not ok for her. Me and her have this rivalry, we are not allowed to play sports against each other because we take it way too seriously.”

“You think I get it from my dad. I get it from my mom.”
