PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Even getting good news about corner Donte Jackson, the Steelers adding another to the active roster while putting a defensive lineman on injured reserve.
Mike Tomlin said earlier on Tuesday he didn’t know yet the extent of the injury to DL Montravius Adams, but the knee issue lands him on the Reserve/Injured list. Adams has played in all seven games with a sack, a tackle for loss, a QB hurry and eight tackles. He’s made 21 starts in his four-year career with the Steelers.
To add depth to the position, the team brought back Breden Fehoko. The 28-year-old nose/defensive tackle spent much of last season on the Steelers practice squad and was a part of off-season activities until his release on August 15 due to injury. Fehoko has played 19 NFL games, all with the Chargers with the last coming in 2022.
Insurance at corner as well, 26-year-old CJ Henderson comes up from the practice squad where he was signed on September 25 following his release by the Texans. The ninth overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2020 by Jacksonville out of the University of Florida, he only played one full season and then traded in September of 2021 to Carolina. He played 66% of the defensive snaps with 10 starts in 2022 and 56% with seven starts in 12 games in 2023.
Henderson has 172 career tackles (139 solo) with three interceptions, 16 passes defended and a pair of forced fumbles in 49 career NFL games. He will also be reunited with Jackson, they were teammates with the Panthers.
