Every NFL team had to bring their roster down from 80 to 53 by 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Unfortunately a lot of players lost their jobs.
But it also gives the Steelers an opportunity to fine some help and give someone a second chance.
Here are five players the Steelers should look at:
Alex Leatherwood – Guard – Released by Las Vegas. Update: GOING TO BEARS
-The number 17 overall pick in last year's draft
-Started in all 17 games for the Raiders last year, played 97 percent of the team's offensive snaps
-Ranked 80 out of 82 guards by Pro Football Focus last season, could be a reclamation project for Steelers or could still end up being one of the biggest busts in draft history
Ben Braden-Guard, 6'6", 329 released by Denver
- Played 9 games with Green Bay last year
Phillip Lindsay – running back – released by Indianapolis
-Had two 1,000 yards seasons with the Denver Broncos
-55 yards with a touchdown as the #3 running back for Colts this preseason
Sony Michel – running back —released Miami. Update: GOING TO CHARGERS
- Last year with the Rams, 208 carries for 845 yards and 21 receptions for 128 yards and 5 total touchdowns
Nick Kwiatkoski, middle linebacker, 6'2", 242 from Bethel Park released by Atlanta
- Had 81 tackles in 2020 starting 12 games with 3 TFL, had 8 TFL the year before with Chicago
