Four Steelers picked to start in Pro Bowl

CINCINNATI (93.7 The Fan) – Four Steelers were picked to start in the Pro Bowl this year with another player as a back-up.

Center Maurkice Pouncey chosen for a 9th time and will start at center with Patrick Mahomes the starting quarterback.

It’s the sixth time Steelers defensive captain Cam Heyward was picked for the all-star game with TJ Watt the starting outside linebacker and Minkah Fitzpatrick a starting free safety.

Guard David DeCastro is a reserve guard with Cleveland’s Joel Bitonio and Indy Quenton Nelson, the starters.

Other AFC starters-Stefon Diggs, Buffalo and Tyreek Hill, Kansas City at receiver.  At tight end, Chiefs Travis Kelce.  Titans Derrick Henry is the tailback with Baltimore’s Patrick Ricard the fullback.  The tackles are KC’s Eric Fisher and Houston’s Laremy Tunsil.  Cleveland’s Myles Garrett is a starter at defensive end and likely to line up next to Heyward.

Penn Hills and Pitt great Aaron Donald will start on defense for the NFC.  Aaron Rodgers starts at quarterback with Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson as the backups.

The Ravens, Packers, Chiefs and Seahawks each had a league most seven players on the roaster.  Twenty-six are first timers including rookies Chase Young from Washington and Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson.
