PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) — CBS Sports released their rendition of the NFL's Top 100 players Tuesday, but how many Pittsburgh Steelers made the list?
To no major surprise, T.J. Watt was the top-ranking Steelers player on the countdown.
Watt was the second-highest defensive player on the list, as well.
And to another nonsurprise, Aaron Donald was the reigning defensive player at No. 2 overall, compared to No. 6 for Watt.
And according to Pete Prisco, "[Watt] led the NFL in sacks with 15 and was the runner-up as Defensive Player of the Year, despite missing one game. He is also a force against the run."
After Watt, there's a pretty significant drop before reaching the next Steeler: Minkah Fitzpatrick at No. 60.
Prisco had this to say about the safety: "He earned his right to be on the list this season after a slow start in 2020. He is a rangy safety that fits perfectly in the NFL game."
And finally, Cam Heyward wrapped up the Pittsburgh representation at No. 65.
Prisco added this about the long-tenured defensive end: "His sack numbers fell from nine to four last season, but he still had 19 quarterback hits. "He is also a good run player, which is key in their scheme."
