PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed outside linebacker Alex Highsmith will miss the Ravens game and likely a few more with an ankle injury. He's week-to-week with his second major injury of the season.
Highsmith injured his ankle stepping on the foot of Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels as he was trying to avoid late contact. A game under his belt with the Steelers, outside linebacker Preston Smith will get more reps.
Whether Nick Herbig is ready or could start in that role is a question.
Tomlin said he was 'pretty comfortable' of getting the second-year outside linebacker back from a hamstring injury suffered against the Cowboys. Steelers head coach said Herbig 'was at the doorstep' of returning last week before not practicing on Friday before the Washington game.
The following players are expected to be limited in practice early in the week, but Tomlin feels like they will play against the Ravens
· CB Donte Jackson-Tomlin said he talked to him on Tuesday and he was feeling fine
· RB Najee Harris-hurt his ankle late in the Washington game
· WR Calvin Austin-was unable to play the last series against the Commanders due to an apparent head injury
