· G Isaac Seumalo (rest)-did not practice
The three who returned to practice that must be activated in 21 days or be lost for the season—linebacker Cole Holcomb (limited), wide receiver Roman Wilson (full), defensive lineman Logan Lee (limited).
Wilson played in one game this season and was not available for comment after practice. He’s been on IR for over two months.
The 28-year-old Holcomb has had devastating knee injuries in 2022 and 2023 and wasn’t even able to go through Steelers training camp this season. He said it’s been a long and tough road and isn’t sure if he will be able to return this season or not.
“We’ll see,” Holcomb said. “I’m just here continuing to try to get better and help the team out.”
“I love this game. I felt like a little kid on the first day of school. I had all the emotions – anxious, nervous, excited, all of it. Once we got going, I was like, ‘All right. We’re good.’ I was just happy to be out there, running around.”
“It was awesome,” said linebacker Alex Highsmith. “I saw him suit in pads before practice and I said ‘yeah, Cole’. I know he’s been through a lot and he’s worked so hard this past year just to get back on the field. It’s just awesome seeing him back out there given how gruesome his injury was.”
“I’m just trying to stay prepared,” said the rookie sixth-round pick Lee. “I’ve been working out really hard for 19 weeks now, so it’s really fun to be able to try to get the pads on. A little out of control right now but I feel really good.”
