Mike Tomlin says he's not even thinking about making a QB change

Mike Tomlin isn't ready to ditch Mitch Trubisky.

The Steelers head coach shot down the possibility of making a change at quarterback following Pittsburgh's 29-17 loss to the Browns Thursday night, saying he's not even considering it.

"I'm not in that mindset," Tomlin told reporters. "I'm interested in reviewing this tape and looking at the totality of it and figuring out how we collectively get better. I will answer that question 'definitively no.'"

Those are probably frustrating words for most Steelers fans to hear. While the Steelers scored 14 points in the first half Thursday, they were shut out over the game's final two quarters. Once again, when they needed to move the ball late, they couldn't.

The Steelers went 3-and-out on two straight drives late in the fourth quarter when down by two scores. They went 1-for-9 on third downs overall, their third-worst game performance since Tomlin took over as head coach in 2007.

Trubisky, for his part, went 20-of-32 for 207 yards and no touchdowns. His highlight came on a 6-yard scamper into the end zone at the end of the second quarter.

But once again, Trubisky struggled to get the ball into the hands of his best playmakers. George Pickens didn't record a single catch after his incredible OBJ-like grab in the first half.

Trubisky acknowledged it's been a challenge spreading the ball around.

"That is how it is going to be," he said. "We have a lot of playmakers and we just have to try to get them the ball. I think when the ball is  moving, everyone is happy. When we are scoring, everyone is happy. So, it is just going to come from everyone sticking together, everyone doing their job and getting the playmakers the ball."

The Steelers preach organizational patience, but with an average of 14.6 offensive points per game, it's getting increasingly hard to defend leaving Kenny Pickett on the bench.

But it sounds like Tomlin is going to keep doing it, at least for another week.
