Nick Herbig says he will return against the Ravens

What the outside linebacker said of the potential to make plays in rivalry

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – He was close last week, Steelers outside linebacker Nick Herbig said Friday he's had 'an awesome' practice week and is ready to return as the Steelers host the Ravens on Sunday.

It's big for this team with outside linebacker Alex Highsmith already ruled out. Herbig sidelined since a hamstring injury against the Cowboys. Herbig was starting to come on this season after a pair of sacks and tackles for loss against the Chargers, including a forced fumble. He had a tackle for loss against Dallas before leaving.

The second-year Steeler was also playing more snaps this year and will likely get a bunch on Sunday as he will work with Preston Smith and also former Ravens linebacker Jeremiah Moon for outside linebacker reps.

"He's been out for a while, he has been itching to be back," said linebacker TJ Watt. "It will be good to have him back. A guy that can rush the passer, but also stop the run."

He also gets to return against the big rival. Herbig has only previously played five snaps against Baltimore.

"I think that is where you make a name for yourself, like James Harrison" Herbig said of making plays against the Ravens. "That's how the world got introduced to James Harrison. He's a prime example of that. I'm excited."
