PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers have concluded their 30 visitors before the NFL Draft which is now just over a week away. For those players who visited who likely will go in the first round, which one should the Steelers draft?

Quarterback

Shedeur Sanders-Colorado (6'2", 215 pounds)
·     Threw for 14,353 yards and 134 touchdowns in 50 games between Colorado and Jackson State. Brought excitement back to Buffaloes football, along with his father and Travis Hunter. Won the Johnny Unitas Award as the nation's top quarterback.

Jaxson Dart-Ole Miss (6'2", 223 pounds)
·     School record-holder with 10,617 passing yards, last year averaged 10.8 yards per attempt leading all of FBS. Dart graded out the best when throwing under pressure and is as tough as they get at quarterback.

Running back

Omarion Hampton-North Carolina (6', 221 pounds)
·     Rushed for 1,660 yards, averaging 5.9 yards per rush and scored 15 touchdowns for the second consecutive season at UNC, including 4 TD against Florida State and 244 yards against Wake Forest.

Wide Receiver

Matthew Golden-Texas (5'11", 191 pounds)
·     A good route-runner with solid hands ran a 4.29, 40-yard dash. Led Longhorns with 987 receiving yards, 17.0 yards per catch with nine touchdowns. Transferred from Houston where he had 15 touchdowns in two years.

Corner

Trey Amos-Ole Miss (6'1", 195 pounds)
·     Really came on after transferring from Alabama for one season with the Rebels. He had career highs in tackles, TFL, interceptions (3), passes defended (13-most at Ole Miss in 9 years). Has the size and potential to play in any scheme.

Safety

Nick Emmanwori-South Carolina (6'3", 220 pounds)
·     Second fastest safety at the NFL Combine (4.38, 40-yard dash) and had the best vertical (43"), best broad jump (11'6") and most reps benching 225 pounds of any safety (20). First Team AP All-American with 88 tackles and four interceptions-two returned for touchdowns.

Defensive line

Shemar Stewart-Texas A&M (6'5", 267 pounds)
·     More of an edge who ran a 4.59 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Had 31 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks last year. Uses his athleticism while on the inside, but is not a blocker-eater. He is someone more likely to move outside.

Derrick Harmon-Oregon (6'4", 313 pounds)
·     Has been Top 10 in a few mock drafts, Second Team AP All-American after 10.5 tackles for loss and has the versatility to play anywhere along the defensive line. Led FBS DT with 55 pressures in 2024.

Darius Alexander-Toledo (6'4", 305 pounds)
·     Pitt fans might remember him from his Pick Six in the GameAboveSports Bowl, he had 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and was Second Team All-MAC in 2024. Alexander is probably a stretch in round one. He can blow up offensive lines, but did not play in a Power Four.
