PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Sometimes he’s outspoken, sometimes he’s says little. After the 24-19 loss at Cleveland Thursday night Steelers receiver George Pickens spoke more with his words than his play.

"Conditions played a huge, huge part in today's game,” Pickens said. “I don't really think the Cleveland Browns are a good team at all. I think the conditions saved them today."

Pickens then continued.

“The conditions and the away-game refs,” Pickens said.

The third-year receiver finished with four catches on seven targets for 48 yards. He would voice his disgust another way.

“The conditions were so bad, I don’t even think the QB could see sometimes,” Pickens said. “When you got conditions like that, at the opponents’ home field, it played in their favor.”

While there was disappointment from others, Mike Tomlin credited the Browns for ‘bringing it’ especially early in the game as to why they made more plays.

“They were able to convert when they needed to,” said eight-year veteran TJ Watt. “Just made plays in big-time moments and we weren’t able to.”

“You want to score on every possession,” said 13-year veteran Russell Wilson. “It’s not realistic against a really good defense. That defense is real over there. They do really good things.”

“When it came down to the end of the game, they just made more plays than us,” said second-year linebacker Nick Herbig. They executed on a better level than us.”

“Hats off to those guys,” said seven-year veteran Donte Jackson. “Those guys came out from start to finish and were firing on all cylinders. Made plays when it counted and when it mattered.”

“Missed opportunities, we have to eat it,” said 14-year veteran Cam Heyward. “They made more plays at the end.”
