PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The downfall of Diontae Johnson continues as now he doesn’t have a job. The former Steelers Pro Bowl receiver was released by the Ravens on Friday.

He was excused from team activities this week after being suspended the previous week. And a day before the Steelers-Ravens game in Baltimore, the Ravens just cut their losses. They are doing this even those receiver Nelson Agholor is out and receiver Rashod Bateman is question for Saturday’s game.

Baltimore picked Johnson up in a trade with Carolina on October 29, giving up a fifth-round pick. He caught one pass for six yards in 39 snaps with Baltimore. With the Panthers he had 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games.

Steelers traded Johnson to Carolina in the offseason for corner Donte Jackson, who leads the Steelers with five interceptions this year.

The numbers were fairly impressive with the Steelers, 391 receptions for 4,353 yards and 25 touchdowns. In 2021, he had 107 receptions for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns.
