Report: Pickett out short-term with bone bruise on knee

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett has a bone bruise on his knee.

He says it could be a short-term absence.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo also was on the report.

"The door is open for Pickett, who also has a muscle strain, to play this week," Rapoport said.

Rapoport adds it would be a smart move for the Steelers to give Pickett the week off with their bye week coming after the Ravens game at Acrisure Stadium Sunday.

Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac says the knee injury is not serious and he "will be fine."

Several people inside the locker room said that Pickett was walking around the locker room with nothing protecting his knee and didn't look like he was limping.

Pickett was injured in the fourth-quarter during a 4th & 1 attempt from shotgun.

While the play call was baffling, it appeared Pickett rolled out of protection to be sacked by Houston defensive end Jonathan Greenard.
