According to a report, the Steelers have added a veteran wide receiver recently placed on waivers.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen has been claimed by Pittsburgh.
Post-Gazette Steelers insider Gerry Dulac says Thielen will sign with the 53-man roster.
Pelissero says Thielen “wanted one more shot at a Super Bowl in his final season and now lands with longtime NFC North rival Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh.”
Thielen was a healthy scratch for the Vikings this weekend in their loss to the Seahawks.
The 35-year-old, that plans to retire after the end of the season, has eight catches over 11 games this year for 69 yards.
Thielen spent most of his career in Minnesota and returned to the Vikings after two seasons in Carolina the past two years.
Thielen was behind Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor on the depth chart for the 4-8 Vikings before he was released.
The Steelers also reportedly waived cornerback Darius Slay on Tuesday.
