PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A step forward for injured guard Isaac Seumalo as the Steelers started practice for the Colts on Wednesday. Here is the complete injury report.
Seumalo went through a limited practice and did more than he has since his pectoral injury. There is an outside chance he might return as he was listed as limited. Until then look for a rotation of Spencer Anderson and rookie Mason McCormick.
"It was super-exciting to be able to get those first offensive snaps out of the way," McCormick said of his first game. "I'm just going to prepare the best that I can and whenever the coaches want to put me in I'm going to go out there and play as hard as I can. I'm going to control what I can."
"There are a couple of plays I wish I could have back. I feel like every week, football is an imperfect game. I'm just going to keep growing and learning and look to execute more and more as the year goes."
Also limited on Wednesday, quarterback Russell Wilson, that was expected as Mike Tomlin had said it would be the case. Others who were limited:
· Safety DeShon Elliott (quadricep)
· CB Donte Jackson (rest)
· LB TJ Watt (rest)
· DT Cam Heyward (rest)
· DL Larry Ogunjobi (rest)
Those who weren't able to practice:
· RB Najee Harris (rest)
· RB Jaylen Warren (knee)
· LB Alex Highsmith (groin)
· TE MyCole Pruitt (knee)
Wide receivers Roman Wilson (ankle) and Van Jefferson (eye) were able to practice full. Wilson was cleared to play last week, but didn't get a helmet. He said he continues to work for an opportunity.
"I hope so," Wilson said. "Same thing as always, come in here, how can I get better today? What can I focus on for tomorrow? What can I learn from? That's my mindset."
