Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin was rather murky when it comes to who will start at certain positions.
When asked if Dan Moore will start at left tackle over Broderick Jones if he’s healthy, Tomlin said “that’s a big if” adding that Moore will get a chance to show he’s getting healthier during the week.
“[Moore] looked pretty good yesterday, we’ll see where the week leads us,” said Tomlin during his weekly news conference on Tuesday.
On the first depth chart of the week, Moore is ahead of Jones at left tackle.
It also has Patrick Peterson over Joey Porter Jr. at cornerback.
Steelers Defensive Coordinator Teryl Austin said last week Porter wasn’t ready to start yet.
Reacting after the news conference both Cook and Joe said they don’t like the decision, if it ends up being Moore over Jones.
Jones played better against Baltimore than Moore did in any other game this season.
Porter Jr. currently has a Pro Football Focus grade of 81.9 and was the highest rated cornerback in Week Five.
Kendrick Green, who was not suited for Center, started at the position ever game he played in in 2021 for the Steelers.
He was traded this past offseason for a sixth-round pick to Houston.
If there is a player who are playing better than the starter, shouldn’t they play until the prove otherwise?
