PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers got some offensive line help on Monday as veteran tackle and guard Joe Haeg returned from the COVID-19 list. The team also signed a veteran defensive lineman.

In his sixth year, Haeg started against the Packers this season, his 39th NFL start between Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Indianapolis.  The 6' 6" former North Dakota State star started 60 games in college and picked in the fifth round by the Colts in 2016.  He can swing from tackle to guard.  Steelers currently dealing with injury at left guard and a potential he could be the fourth different starter there on Sunday against the Titans.

Steelers also signed former Ohio State defensive end John Simon to the practice squad.  Originally a fourth-round pick in 2013 by the Ravens, Simon played three years in Baltimore.  He then spent time with the Texans for three years, then split with the Colts, Patriots and this year Tennessee.  Simon played as recently as November 28 for the Titans with three tackles against New England.  For his career, the 6'2" Simon has 21 sacks, two picks and 259 tackles in 99 games.

The team released kicker Sam Sloman from the practice squad and put defensive back Linden Stephens on the Practice Squad/COVID-19 List.
