Steelers great L.C. Greenwood a finalist for Hall of Fame

Another member of the Super Steelers teams of the 1970s may finally get what he’s deserved for so long… a trip to Canton.

Steelers defensive lineman L.C. Greenwood is a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2026 class as part of the Senior category.

Greenwood was an important part of the Steelers four Super Bowl-winning teams in the 70s.

“It’s about time,” said 93.7 The Fan and KDKA-TV’s Bob Pompeani.

Greenwood was a 10th-round draft pick and finished with an unofficial 78 career sacks, it wasn’t a recognized stat until 1982.

Greenwood had four sacks in Super Bowl X against the Dallas Cowboys.

49ers running back Roger Craig and Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson are the other finalists.

Greenwood passed away at the age of 67 in 2013.

The class of 2026 will be announced before Super Bowl LX next year.
